Hiring National Coordinator

THE RUFFED GROUSE SOCIETY OF CANADA
La Societe Canadienne De la Gelinotte Huppee

CANADIAN COORDINATOR

About Ruffed Crouse and American Woodcock Society
RGS/AWS is a conservation organization with Charitable Status based in Canada, with a like status in the USA operated by our American Associates.

We are dedicated to preserving our sporting traditions by helping to create healthy forests to maintain abundant wildlife for ruffed grouse and woodcock.

RGS works with landowners and government agencies to increase and develop critical habitat using scientific management practices.

RGS Canada is looking to place a Co-Ordinator to direct our Canadian operation in Canada.  The criteria we are looking for is as follows:
The Coordinator will play the key role in rebuilding RGS presence in Canada.
  • This person is expected to work closely with the board of directors with a primary goal to expand RGS and to attain greater financial stability.  Carry on the day to day operation of the Canadian Office by providing support to the 2 existing chapters and be instrumental in establishing new chapters.
  • Provide leadership and planning for major fundraising events while developing a portfolio of donors and donor representatives together with a list of members for RGS Canada.
  • Work closely with our American counterparts (RGS US)
  • Experience in preparing and delivering group presentations.
  • A strong drive and passion to organize
  • Competence in developing and working with budgets.
  • Management and Leadership ability including ability to organize and manage volunteers within our organization.
  • Fund raising experience

Personal Attributes, Skill Sets and Know How:

  • A dedicated interest in upland game and conversation
  • Attention to detail – Report filing, record keeping
  • Commitment to becoming an advocate of RGS Canada and its mandate
  • Be creative along with the ability to listen and implement the ideas of others.
  • Be a team Builder with articulate speaking, writing and listening skills.
  • Be personable, diplomatic and familiarity with good business management practices.
  • Have, or be willing to, obtain a firearms acquisition certificate in order to obtain firearms for fund raisers/banquets.

Our Coordinator will be the face of RGS Canada and be the person in charge while working with a volunteer board of directors which will assist the coordinator in carrying out the necessary duties.
Because we live in an electronically connected environment a proficiency with email and various computer skills with Facebook and online communication programs would be an asset.

In the past RGS Canada has provided an allowance for a home office and cell phone including necessary travel expenses as may be required from time to time.
These expenses are funded by the current chapters but are limited so that we may return as much money to our mandate of conservation and habitat.

Further renumeration based on growth and funding will be negotiated.
